There's an alumni network for my former employer, the now-defunct consulting firm Viant. I put up four polls about the election. Here are the results:
1. Who will be the next president?
- Bush, unfortunately: 35%
- Bush, fortunately: 8%
- John Kerry, unfortunately: 11%
- John Kerry, fortunately: 46%
Giving Kerry, the edge with 57%
2. Who will win the popular vote?
- Bush: 27%
- Kerry: 70%
- Nader: 3%
3. Who will win the electoral vote?
- Bush: 40%
- Kerry: 60%
4. How will the election, in the end, be decided?
- Electoral college, without any problem: 45%
- Electoral college, after court ruling(s): 45%
- Another American revolution: 10%
P.S. Pataki is now acting upbeat, saying that "democracy is always a great thing." Not an optimistic omen for his party. Apparently, the Republicans are losing representatives.
