Lots of car accidents this weekend
It's been a busy weekend for police and emergency medical personnel in norway. In an article titled "Dramatic weekend," Aftenposten has tallied all the various serious accidents throughout the tiny country of Norway:
- Two serious collisions on country roads involving at least a dozen people
- One car off the road, killing the driver
- In three municipalities, police had to deal with 14 accidents
- A serious pile-up involving ten cars
- Two cars involved in a race both crashed against a tunnel wall
- Two cars drove into the water, sinking rapidly - one person died, two were rescued in the nick of time
And there were also a number of other serious accidents, including twi big fires, several drownings, work accidents, etc. As my great-aunt once said "Det har ikkje vore liklaust i Oppdal i vinter" ("the winter in Oppdal hasn't passed without its number of corpses.")
